Hi, I am still seeking some advise. We purchased 1 lb of worms a couple of weeks ago through your company. They did not seem to enjoy their bed as they kinda left...I am going to order a couple more pounds but wondered if this is common...I have drainage holes and air holes in tote containers with a bed of manure, peat moss and very little planting soil...with a gravel/dirt bottom for better drainage. I am feeding minced compost that has been previously frozen...I feed about 1/2 cup a couple times a week.
What worms I have left...(about 100)...the others are dead around the outsides of the bed) seem to be adjusting OK to their new home. Can you tell me if this is common, is the mortality rate high as a rule...I did not shut the covers tight but I am thinking they are coming out the holes in the tote...just wondering if you could add some insight to something that I should do different.
As well, we would like to come over to see your worm farm...do you offer tours or are you open to visitors?
Thanks
Kathy
